If there is one thing that all pirate stories have in common, it is the link with curses and bones, which is why even their banner is represented by a skull and two crossbones.
This has led to the creation of these cursed skeletons, probably former pirates, with weapons and characteristics typical of sailors unaccustomed to the mainland, alive.
